Quick Details
Your Niagara Falls sightseeing tour begins as your friendly guide gives you a brief tour around Toronto while getting everyone else on board. There is only one pick-up location in Toronto so you don’t spend a large part of your tour going from hotel to hotel picking up a big bus full of passengers.
Enjoy a drive through the Greater Toronto Area including Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton on your way into the Niagara region. Travel over the Garden City Skyway bridge and view the Welland Canal and lock #3 of eight locks on the canal en route to the Niagara region.
Your Niagara Day Tour driver knows that even with all the scenic stops on your tour you will still want to spend as much time as you can at the main attraction – Niagara Falls.
So unlike some other operators which only give you one and a half to two hours at the falls, Niagara Day Tour gives you a minimum of three hours.
The Guinness Book of World Records holder for the smallest chapel in the world is situated on the shores of the Niagara River. Your driver will take you past the little chapel for some photos and you may even get the opportunity to go inside for some added perspective.
Just down the road from the Smallest Chapel in the World is the Floral Clock. Built-in 1950, the Floral Clock is one of the largest in the world at more than 40 feet in diameter. Its face is filled with over 15,000 small plants in elaborate designs that are changed twice each year. A wishing pond and a tower feature Westminister chimes that sound every quarter-hour.
Your next stop is the award-winning Reif Estate Winery in the beautiful Niagara wine region. Sample 3 complimentary wines including Niagara’s famous ice wine. Note that ice wine is very expensive to make and almost all wineries will charge you to sample the ice wine. Niagara Day Tour has an agreement with Reif Estate Winery so you will not be charged to sample the ice wine. After enjoying the winery and tastings from the vineyard, you begin the scenic drive along the Niagara River towards Niagara Falls.
Your Niagara Falls Tour driver will also show you the hydro-electric power stations on the Niagara River. Your informative guide will take you past 3 hydro-electric power stations in quick succession including the Adam Beck Generating Station 2 – the largest hydroelectric power station in Niagara. Built-in 1950 it is one of many power stations on the Niagara River which has a generating capacity of around 4 million kilowatts.
